Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
This policy explains how the iMapIt app (iMapIt Pro and iMapIt Lite, for iPhone and iPad), developed by Marcus Silva, handles information. By using the app, you agree to what is described here.
1. Information the app uses
- Precise location (GPS). iMapIt uses your device's GPS to collect the coordinates of your measurements. This only happens after you grant location access in iOS. Automatic collection can continue while the app is in the background or the screen is locked.
- Your measurements. Points, lines, polygons, names, descriptions and categories are stored on your device and are not sent to the developer.
- Usage data and identifiers. The app may collect usage information, product interactions and the device identifier. This data is not linked to your identity, such as your name or email.
2. How this information is used
- To calculate areas, perimeters and lengths and show your position on the map;
- Usage analytics, to understand which features are used most and to improve the app;
- Third-party advertising: as declared in the app's App Store listing, usage information and advertising data may be used by third parties to display ads.
3. Third-party services
The app may use third-party services for usage analytics, such as Firebase (Google). These services may receive the usage information and device identifier described above and handle them under their own privacy policies.
Maps and satellite imagery are provided by Apple Maps. When displaying them, your device communicates with Apple, under Apple's privacy policy.
4. Export and sharing
You decide whether and where to export your measurements: by USB cable, by email or to a web server that you specify. Exported files and web exports include the device identification (DeviceId parameter), so you can tell where files on your server came from. This data goes only to the destination you choose.
We do not sell personal information.
5. Storage and deletion
Your measurements stay on your device. When you delete the app, locally stored data is removed from the device, except for files you exported and backups of your device.
6. Your choices and rights
You can revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings, under Privacy & Security, Location Services. In that case the app will not be able to collect coordinates.
Where applicable, you can exercise your rights under data protection laws, such as access, correction and deletion of data, by contacting the email below.
7. Children
iMapIt is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated. The date at the top of the page shows the latest revision.
